makeup routine

I used to not wear makeup since I felt that it was simply too much of a hassle. But after I dyed my  hair brown, I felt a need to use a eyebrow mascara to make my eyebrows brown too. Since then, I have been using more makeup but I have to say that my makeup routine is pretty simple.

Firstly, I use a BB cream or a light foundation mouse for my base.
I use the Etude house precious mineral BB cream [perfect fit] OR Catrice 12h matt mousse!

The BB cream is not heavy and very easy to spread! It does give pretty even coverage and brightens up my face! It also has SPF 30/PA++. The Catrice mousse is my favorite product ever. Its so lightweight and it dries to a matte powdery finish- meaning I can save the loose powder for my BB creams. The mousse feels like soft and fluffy clouds on your face and its very very easy to spread. It provides pretty decent coverage even if you use very little!

If I use the Etude house BB cream, I will set it with some loose powder! Currently I am using the Etude house Baby sweet sugar powder.

I haven tried any face powders so I can't compare but this definitely does set my makeup well and its leaves my skin feeling smooth.

Now its time for the important step! The eyebrows. They say that the eyebrows are very important as it can change your whole look. I just follow my natural eyebrow shape. A slightly arched eyebrows. I like the Korean look- the straight brows, aegyo sal and the gradient lips. But sadly I don't suit the straight brow look!

My way of drawing my brows is different compared to others haha. I firstly use a eyebrow mascara from etude house! It is Etude house color my brows eyebrow mascara. This is where the weirdness begins.

I take the wand of the mascara and i go against the growth of my eyebrows and then coat my eyebrows in the direction of growth. While doing so, I will purposely spread the mascara onto my brow skin(?) and not just the hair! I immediately take a angled brush and draw my eyebrows using the mascara I applied on my skin. Using the angled brush allows me to achieve a clean eyebrow. I use the mascara to lightly draw the end of my eyebrows as well.
After the mascara dries, I use a eyebrow pencil(no brand) to lightly fill and colour the ends of my brows so its not as light as the rest of my brows.

For my eye makeup, It only requires 2 product for my casual makeup.
I only create a aegyo sal for my casual makeup! I don't use any eyeshadow or liquid eyeliner~ I only use a brown eyepencil and a highlighter pen/pencil.
I do not apply eyeliner on my upper eyelid! My eye makeup just focuses on my lower eye. I apply brown eyeliner onto 1/3 of my outer bottom eye and the 2/3 I use the highlighter pen to fill in!

This creates a aegyo sal like

You can see she has eyeshadow and smudged eyeliner but I don't do that haha.
For the brown pencil eyelinder, I use Catrice's KOHL KAJAL in 140 chocwaves

For the highlighter pen I use Catrice's made to STAY highlighter pen. I use this to create my aegyo sal as well as to highlight a little on my cupid bow, chin and below the eyebrows. (sometimes nose)
Most of the time, I will use blush so that I won't look too sick with the white BB cream. I usually prefer a coral peach shade over a red/ bright pink shade.
For blush, I am using Catrice's defining blush. Its a pink with a hint of coral! I  just apply it normally on the apple of my cheeks.

Lastly, I use a lip tint or or a moisturizing lipstick to complete my casual makeup look.
I use either Etude house's sweet cherry tint in PK002/ Silky girl limited edition moisture rich lipstick in 05/Silky girl moisture boost lipcolour balm in 06 wine to create gradient lips. If I'm lazy, I will just apply tinted lip balm all over my lips.

For a slightly more formal occasion such as my prom, I did more extra steps:
  • use a natural enlarging dark grey contacts
  • use the brown eye pencil to very lightly line 1/3 of my upper eyelid and smudge it (can barely see though...)
  • I curl my eyelashes and apply 1 coat of mascara to my top and bottom lashes- Maybelline hyper curl volume express waterproof mascara
  • Apply lip gloss to the center of my lips
  • Use the highlighter pen to highlight the center of my upper eyelid to brighten and give more dimension to my eyes
  • Contour my jaw (only)
That is all for my makeup routine! Thank you for reading :)
